#AceSoftwareNews Sept.20: Microsoft has released an Xbox beta app for Windows 10 that is now available for download from the Windows Store. The app lets you stay connected to the Xbox Live community, allowing you to see what other gamers are playing, share your game clips, send messages, find new friends and more across Windows 10 devices. You can stream games from Xbox One to Windows 10 PC via Xbox One controller too. Additionally, you can party chat with other gamers and join them in games such as Fable Legend and Gigantic.

Along with the roll-out of the beta app, Microsoft has shared details about the updates in the September release of the Xbox app on Windows 10. These include a real-time friends list which will be automatically refreshed with their online as well as offline status and the games they are playing, information about the game and whether it can be joined via multiplayer or, party.

You will no longer need to press the refresh option to see the Activity Feed items. Just keep the Xbox app open and Activity Feed will notify the new items. The achievement section of your profile now offers you a side-by-side comparison of your friends’ progress on a specific game you recently played, along with gamescore and achievements. The update includes the most requested feature to the app – the ability to use the Xbox app for text input compatible with Windows devices such as keyboard and touch keypads.

The Beatles’ first record contract sells at auction for £60,000

#AceMediaNews – Sept.20: A recording contract signed by The Beatles in 1961 has sold at auction for over £60,000. New York auction house Heritage Auctions confirmed the sale of the contract yesterday (September 19) with an unknown bidder paying $93,750 (£60,365) for the item. It was sold by the estate of German Beatles collector Uwe Blaschke.

The contract was the first ever signed by the band and pre-dates drummer Ringo Starr’s involvement in the group. Drummer Pete Best signed the contract along with John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison for the release of ‘My Bonnie Lies Over The Ocean’. The song was recorded in Hamburg. Getty Meanwhile, The Beatles first management contract, signed with long-term manager Brian Epstein, is going up for sale at Sotherby’s Rock and Pop auction, and may make as much as £250,000 later this year. The contract was famously agreed despite Paul McCartney annoying Epstein by attending a meeting late as he was taking a bath, and agreed by some of The Beatles’ parents because they were too young to sign legally themselves. A live restaging of The Beatles’ recording sessions at EMI’s Abbey Road studios will be performed in UK arenas in 2016.

Billed as ‘part blockbuster stage show, part access-all-areas musical documentary’, the production, called ‘The Sessions’, sees 45 cast members and musicians recreate a suite of famous tracks recorded by

The Beatles at the famous London studios.

Following a charity preview of the show in Liverpool on March 30 and a sold-out world premiere at London’s Royal Albert Hall on April 1, the show will embark on an 11-date UK arena tour, taking in Brighton, Cardiff, Nottingham, Newcastle, Glasgow, Manchester, Aberdeen, Leeds and Birmingham, before coming to a close with two consecutive nights in London.
