David Bowie’s musical Lazarus – the final project he worked on before his death – will reportedly hit London for the first time in November.

Written by Bowie and Irish playwright Enda Walsh, Lazarus is based on The Man Who Fell To Earth, a sci-fi novel by Walter Tevis which later became a movie starring Bowie himself.

Lazarus allegedly features all Bowie’s biggest hits and has therefore been described as a jukebox musical, like Mamma Mia! or Sunny Afternoon. But it sounds a hell of a lot more surreal than those two.

The London production will star Dexter’s Michael C Hall, according to The Sun, and he will take on David’s film role as fallen alien Thomas Jerome Newton.

Hall has already played Newton in the Broadway production, which opened in late 2015 to rave reviews.

Following Bowie’s death, plans to get a London run on its feet picked up speed – and now a brand new temporary theatre is being built in Kings Cross, with an audience capacity of 800, specially for the production.

Tickets for the show go on sale next week so if you’re a Bowie fan, get ready to launch yourselves at the online box office before it goes into total meltdown.

The idea of a Lazarus figure – like the Bible character who was raised from the dead – was clearly important to Bowie.

His song of the same name was his last single to be released before he passed away at the age of 69 on January 10, 2016.

We know you’re out there somewhere, Bowie.
