Kanye West’s McDonald’s poem, illustrated just for you enjoy – @AceFriendsNews

#AceNewsDesk – Aug.24: Kanye West’s McDonald’s poem, illustrated

Frank Ocean finally dropped his much-anticipated album Blonde this weekend, along with a limited companion zine called Boys Don’t Cry that came with some physical copies of the album. The zine features artwork from collaborators, personal essays and interviews, and a poem about McDonald’s by none other than Kanye West.

Accompanying the poem are artsy shots of Kanye picking up McDonald’s drive-thru in a very expensive-looking car, which, like, same. As a fellow McDonald’s lover, I felt moved by Kanye’s poem. So moved, in fact, that I decided to illustrate the story. You can read it as a bedtime story to your children or to yourself, if you need to be reminded of the dangerous temptation of McDonald’s fries.

So smooth.

SOCIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Twitter has announced two new settings that will allow users to control what they see in their feeds and what notifications they receive in the future – @AceFriendsNews

#AceNewsDesk – Aug.24: Twitter unveils features to filter tweets, notifications

@AceTweetNews

Twitter says in a blog post that it has modified its notification settings to include the ability to see only notifications from people they follow. It’s also introducing what it calls a “quality filter” that it says can improve the quality of tweets users see. Twitter says the feature will filter out duplicate tweets or content that appears to be automated.

The announcement from San Francisco-based Twitter comes a month after “Saturday Night Live” and “Ghostbusters” star Leslie Jones publicly called on Twitter to do more to curb harassment on the platform. Twitter banned one user in response to the incident.

SOCIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Twitter’s night mode comes to iOS changing Light to Dark when you need it most – @AceFriendsNews

#AceNewsDesk – Aug.24: Twitter’s night mode comes to iOS
twitter-night-mode-ios.jpg

It was only a matter of time before Twitter brought its night mode to iOS, and sure enough, it’s here. The social network has started rolling out a settings tweak that, like on Android, lets you shift to a darker color scheme to avoid straining your eyes (or because you prefer the look, of course). This definitely isn’t the first Twitter client on iOS to do a night mode, or even the best implementation — Tweetbot has had the option for ages, and it switches automatically based on time of day where Twitter asks you to toggle it manually. Still, it’s nice to see such a practical feature reach the widest audience possible.

Rolling out today – we’re bringing night mode to iOS! 🌙 https://t.co/XxNZHQdth9 pic.twitter.com/WLwKi4H0Oe

SOCIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Today, we’re incredibly excited to announce that Instapaper is joining Pinteres t and thanks to all their readers for the last three years – @AceFriendsNews

#AceNewsDesk – Aug.24: Today, we’re incredibly excited to announce that Instapaper is joining Pinterest.

In the three years since betaworks acquired Instapaper from Marco Arment, we’ve completely rewritten our backend, overhauled our mobile and web clients, improved parsing and search, and introduced tons of great features like highlights, text-to-speech, and speed reading to the product.

All of these features and developments revolved around the core mission of Instapaper, which is allowing our users to discover, save, and experience interesting web content. In that respect, there is a lot of overlap between Pinterest and Instapaper. Joining Pinterest provides us with the additional resources and experience necessary to achieve that shared mission on a much larger scale.
For you, the Instapaper end user and customer, nothing changes.

The Instapaper team will be moving from betaworks in New York City to Pinterest’s headquarters in San Francisco, and we’ll continue to make Instapaper a great place to save and read articles.

Lastly, and most importantly, we want to thank all of our readers for your support throughout the years.

Whether you supported us back when Marco built and ran Instapaper, from the betaworks acquisition, or just found out about us recently, we truly appreciate your continued support and look forward to bringing you the same great product at Pinterest.

If you have any questions at all, you can reply directly to this email or reach us at support
– Instapaper Team
