TWTTER: If you had a Vine account, there’s an ALERT you may want to know about that was notified to some Twitter users Friday that a bug in 2012 Vine app could have compromised your email #AceNewsDesk .@AceFriendsNews

#AceNewsDesk – May.20: An anonymous reader shares a report:If you had a Vine account, there’s an alert you may want to know about #AceNewsDesk

A Bug in Twitter’s Old Vine App May Have Exposed Your Email Published on May 19, 2017 at 10:40AM: An anonymous reader shares a report:

The video app, which Twitter bought in 2012 and shut down last year after its six-second videos failed to take off, sent out emails to some users Friday alerting them to a vulnerability in its service. Yeah, that’s right, Vine is dead, but your account may have been compromised anyway.

Apparently, the “bug” potentially exposed email addresses to hackers or other “third parties under certain circumstances.” The vulnerability apparently existed for less than 24 hours, or 14,400 Vine videos. “We take these incidents very seriously, and we’re sorry this occurred,” Vine wrote in its email.

It also said the information exposed could not be used to access accounts, and there were no indications any of the data had been misused.

Microsoft Is Planning To Turn Windows 10 PCs Into Amazon Echo Competitors to Eventually Connect to Smart Devices as a HomeHub #AceNewsDesk – @AceFriendsNews

#AceNewsDesk – May.14: Speaking of Amazon’s Echo devices, it appears Microsoft also wants a slice of this nascent market #AceNewsDesk

Microsoft Is Planning To Turn Windows 10 PCs Into Amazon Echo Competitors Published on May 09, 2017 at 08:40AM Verge’s Tom Warren claims that Microsoft has been working on a feature for Windows 10 that would allow it “to better compete with devices like Amazon’s Echo.” Dubbed HomeHub, the feature is designed to create “a family environment for a PC with shared access to calendars, apps, and even a new welcome screen.” He adds: Microsoft is even planning to support smart home devices like Philips’ Hue lights, to enable Windows 10 to act as a hub to control and manage smart home hardware.

While we’ve heard about HomeHub before, The Verge has obtained internal concepts of exactly how Microsoft is imagining HomeHub will work. The major addition is a new welcome screen that includes an “always on” digital corkboard to let families use to-do lists, calendars, and notes.

The welcome screen is really designed for kitchen PCs and new smaller hardware with screens that will support Cortana voice commands from across the room.

Microsoft will make its Edge browser faster in the next Windows 10 update #AceNewsDesk – @AceFriendsNews

#AceNewsDesk – May.14: Microsoft is focusing on performance and responsiveness for its Edge browser in the next major Windows 10 update #AceNewsDesk

Microsoft will make its Edge browser faster in the next Windows 10 update // The Verge reported during a developer session at Build recently, the software giant outlined its priorities for the next release as part of the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update.

Top of the list is making sure opening and closing tabs are a lot smoother. If you’re familiar with Edge, you’ll probably be aware of the slight lag when opening a new tab and typing a URL occasionally. It spoils the experience, and Microsoft is aiming to eliminate this.

Alongside performance improvements, there are some subtle design changes on the way. As part of Microsoft’s Fluent Design System, we’ll start to see some more modern design touches in Edge. A new favorites animation is part of that, alongside visuals for when you click on objects in Edge. Most of the changes are really minor on the design side right now, but Microsoft clearly has bigger overall plans with the Fluent Design System to gradually overhaul its Windows user interface.

Microsoft is also bringing progressive web apps (PWAs) to Edge. Google engineer Alex Russell coined the PWAs term, and they’re essentially websites that progressively become apps. That should mean that websites will be able to offer more app-like experiences in the future, with improved notifications and offline support. It’s still early days for PWAs, but it’s encouraging to see that Microsoft is ready to support them.

Lesson From Dad XX / Seeds ! Rain .

mysuccessisyoursuccess

If you forget where you planted your seeds .

After the clouds of the sky the rain will tell

You where you planted them for they will sprout.

So my son plant good deeds as you travel through life.

For those whom you know and for those you meet once.

Remember my son nothing goes unnoticed under the sun.

You will be rewarded absolutely a thousand fold and more.

Not only in your earthly life , but also in the new one.

JUST IN: First Pirated Ultra HD Blu-Ray Disk’ Appears Online. AACS 2.0 Cracked? The Smurfs 2 #AceNewsDesk – @AceFriendsNews

#AceNewsDesk – May.03: While there is no shortage of pirated films on the Internet, Ultra-high-definition content is often hard to find #TorrentFreak reports #AceNewsDesk

First Pirated Ultra HD Blu-Ray Disk’ Appears Online. AACS 2.0 Cracked?Posted: 03 May 2017 02:35 AM PDT Not only are the file sizes enormous, but the protection is better than that deployed to regular content. UHD Blu-Ray Discs, for example, are protected with AACS 2.0 encryption which was long believed to unbreakable.

A few hours ago, however, this claim was put in doubt. Out of nowhere, a cracked copy of a UHD Blu-Ray Disc surfaced on the HD-focused BitTorrent tracker UltraHDclub.

The torrent in question is a copy of the Smurfs 2 film and is tagged “The Smurfs 2 (2013) 2160p UHD Blu-ray HEVC Atmos 7.1-THRONE.” This suggests that AACS 2.0 may have been “cracked” although there are no further technical details provided at this point.

UltraHDclub is proud of the release, though, and boasts of having the “First Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc in the NET!”

Those who want to get their hands on a copy of the file have to be patient though. Provided that they have access to the private tracker, it will take a while to download the entire 53.30 GB disk.

At the time of writing, there are still very few seeders available, which means that progress is slow.

TorrentFreak reached out to both the uploader of the torrent and an admin at the site hoping to find out more, but thus far we have yet to hear back. From the details provided, the copy appears to be the real deal although not everyone agrees.

TorrentFreak spoke to an expert at a well-known torrent distribution group who reviewed the media information and compared it to the retail UHD Blu-Ray Disc.

While the audio seems to match, the Maximum Content Light Level and Maximum Frame-Average Light Level listed in the media infoappear to be different, and the colors in the screenshots are off too. This means that it’s warranted to remain reserved when it comes to definitive “cracked” claims at this time.

The potential ‘breakthrough’ release hasn’t gone unnoticed though, and in various discussion forums people are suggesting that AACS 2.0 must have been broken. Hundreds of downloaders have jumped on the release too, congratulating the uploader.

“Great job! Congratulations to the person/team who achieved this awesome milestone. I’ve got nothing but love for you!” one downloader writes.

“This is history in the making and Im proud and glad to be able to participate and experience it first hand. This is so freakin amazing and it feels sort of unreal but yet it isnt which is the best part,” another one notes.

If the encryption has indeed been broken it will be bad news for AACS, the decryption licensing outfit that controls it. The company, founded by a group of movie studios and technology partners including Warner Bros, Disney, Microsoft and Intel, has put a lot of effort into making the technology secure.

If more information becomes available, we will update the article accordingly …
