Winter as seen by my mother
This year was rough. However, I managed to keep moving forward. Gradually improving myself was my plan, to keep my inner peace balanced. I am sure I wasn’t the only one facing hardship this year. I noticed many people were dealing with similar issues. Therefore, I’ve decided to share two of the major lessons I’ve learned this year.
Everything can change, including people.
This might be the hardest lesson. Although it was difficult to accept the fact that everything can change, including people’s feelings, I’ve surrendered to it at the end. Don’t get me wrong, change is wonderful. I am very flexible. I’ve always accepted change in my life, whenever I felt the need to it. But this year, change has reached an emotional level for me. I had to put an end to toxic long-term relationships, relationships that weren’t serving my personal growth. I had to cut ties with…

You said you loved me
And wanted me to grow
That’s just what I did
So that soon I would know
You never really believed it
Your words were purely fake
To make yourself feel superior
In the image that you make
The things you can’t control
Frustrating you no end
Face your rejection, unless
To your will, they bend
Empty words now revealed
You’ve thrown off your disguise
Shown for what you really are
As your true colour flies
Carry on manipulating
Those cast under your spell
But it’s a conditional love
Where the stress begins to tell
Already old before your time
One day you’ll walk alone
Leaving friends to wonder why
Your heart was filled with stone
Amen 🙏

One of my favourite Salvation Army Band pieces is called ‘The Light of the World’ written and composed by Dean Goffin who I believe was Australian. I suppose one of the reasons I like this piece is the main hymn/theme going through it which is O Jesus, thou art standing. You will also hear the chorus Behold me standing at the door come in through the piece and if you listen carefully you will hear the bottom end of the band emphasise the knocking.
Holmun Hunt also painted a picture of Jesus sanding outside a door knocking and I believe this can be seen in St Paul’s Cathedral, London.
O Jesus, thou art standing,
outside the fast closed door,
in lowly patience waiting
to pass the threshold o’er:
shame on us, Christian brothers,
his Name and sign who bear,
O shame, thrice shame upon us,
to keep him standing…

14“To the angel of the church in Laodiceawrite:
These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation.15I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot.I wish you were either one or the other!16So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.17You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.18I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire,so you can become rich; and white clothesto wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness;and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.
19Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline.So be earnest and…

Let’s take a second to breath.
I once believed light filled every corner of this world from the soaring eagles to the bushels under our boots. All day now I spend longing to believe that light again. I quickly realize that there is a need to be the light not just wait for it. As we have plenty of opportunities to watch others light creations and enjoy the energy and change creativity brings. So, maybe we can join in and create something new. Something that shines a glistening light across the bedrooms and hallways of this world. A glimmer of hope, a feeling of peace, and being a part of something more.
With the adaptation of the internet we have found a way to express our imaginary silhouettes. Blending and shaping into the dimensions across the seas and plains. After a while we blend into the rest of the world…

God wants our success and fruitfulness to abound us in heavenly gifts. The more we can store away and put in savings the more we are able to donate to other wholesome causes. Having a savings plan and some money stored away will allow you the security in life. Safety through out life is important to tread carefully and spend on the things that will empower the holy spirit to work in and with you. Yeshua needs vessels here on Earth to grow his kingdom.
When we are able to slow down and take everything in. If we look at our surroundings and pay attention; we can then make small changes that have a real impact spiritually. It’s all about what we are doing right here, right now.
Where is our mind invested?
What do you save your money for?
What are your investments?

Jesus always comes back. God restores the weak and heals the sick. He takes his time with each of us looking for ways to perfect us in his image. Of course there will be times when we don’t feel he is working closely with us, these are the times to put even more faith in him. Prayer and scriptures renew the mind and give us new hope for a better future. There is a love for each one of us wrapped up in God’s Holy Spirit. Jesus is our beacon of light and even when we are nearing the grave, God still saves! The grave disappears and the Lord shines with all Glory and Peace renewed through our faith.
and come out—those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned. John 5:29
