Celtic gain 3 points at Hamilton as Dons slip up

You won’t see an easier 2-0 looking back but looking back Craig Gordon had to make 3 superb saves, so this was an easy 2-0 but again our lack of cutting edge up-front showed. We have the firepower, we have the players, sadly the way we play is too narrow and we are easy to defend against. One pile driver and a deflection leading to a good finish by Henderson won it for us on the day

Commons threw his boots to the fans, I am told he was maybe saying goodbye. Why throw boots in? For me without someone suggesting it he looked to be saying goodbye, to be told it’s a ‘Maybe’ it makes it more than just a nice gesture, he isn’t happy he is having to leave, he loves Celtic and him and his partner are settled here

Celtic had all the possession today and the first goal was just superb. The ball was played from the wing into Commons he kept the ball rolling into the path of Matthews and his shot was unstoppable, no keeper was getting that, great goal and superb for Matthews

1-0 and one of the goals of the season from Matthews

1-0 and one of the goals of the season from Matthews

With 20 scouts in attendance for this game it makes you wonder who is being watches as Celtic have a few assets. But don’t discount some scouts being there for Hamilton’s Crawford, he had a few chances today

Second half I was watching and screaming for a 4-4-2 or even 4-3-1-2 as we have don’t have enough bodies in the box when we do actually get a cross in. Our second goal came from a superb cross from Matthews, missing the first defender, floated over to the back post, Izzy got a touch it fell to Henderson who hammered home on the half volley. Brilliant finish from the young lad

Good controlled finish by Henderson for 2-0

Good controlled finish by Henderson for 2-0

All in a good win, 3 points is all you want on a cold Saturday afternoon when you are missing key players for whatever reasons. Guidetti looks like he is 3rd choice striker now, maybe Ronny is bringing the kids head back to Earth, we all love  confidence but John maybe has shown too much, I am guessing of course

Man of the match for me was Nir Bitton, the lad controlled the midfield, got better as the game progressed and is getting more confident each week, the kid just plays the simple game, he is assured, confident, never gets flustered and his work-rate along with Johansen and others make us a very good team at pressing teams, as we did in the first half today

Cya next game

Celtic hammer Kilmarnock 2-0 (Goals Video)

A very happy man, 3 points needed and 3 points we got

A very happy man, 3 points needed and 3 points we got

Kris Commons left foot will be red raw tonight as I have never seen a one man show where a player has had so many shots at goal. We can sometimes give the opposition a ‘Well done’ and tonight Kilmarnock defended like their lives depended on it, throwing bodies at everything Commons hit tons of shots with Killie players throwing themselves at everything with the goalie doing well also, can we give the goalposts a shout?

Super tonight. As he said after the game "I need a contact I have rent to pay" LOL...Man of the match

Super tonight. As he said after the game “I need a contact I have rent to pay” LOL…Man of the match

Celtic should have been several up at half time, wasteful again in front of goals tonight, Commons was unlucky but we had chances from almost everyone tonight, on 36 minutes an incredible goal by Izzy for 1-0 on the half volley, the bench turned around and seemed to say well done to John Kennedy, must have been a move in his notebook, but what a goal it was, just as we needed it as again we were not converting possession and chances into goals
Via @CelticGoals (Thanks for your hard work mate)

Izzy 1-0

Izzy 1-0

The first half was as well as you will see Celtic play this season we bossed the game, Ambrose did ok at times bit he fell and nearly let the Killie player in to make it 1-1. I did this article here on Ronny’s Team, Defence, Midfield and Attack, this was about defence, I seen it again tonight, all of what I have noticed http://thecelticnetwork.com/2015/01/04/ronny-deilas-celtic-case-for-the-defence-part-1/ we really need to work on this as better teams than Killie will score against us on the counter

The second half was much the same with Celtic oozing class, our one touch passing led to many changes from the by-line, but as usual we get to the by-line and the cut back is poor, we really must have a player running in-front of the keeper, a player on the penalty spot ready to pounce forward and more important a man on the edge of the box or “Edge” as we say in football talk.

Chances came and went and at 1-0 you are thinking “On not again” or “Here we go again” we made it really hard for ourselves as at 1-0 a mistake by Scott Brown allowed a Killie player a toe basher that nearly looped over Gordon thankfully Craig was up to the task to palm it away. See this is what I was talking about in “The case for Defence” article, stupid mistakes in defence

Celtic got 2-0 and a heavy sigh of relief from Ronny and everyone else. A cracking corner from Johansen a header towards goal by Ambrose doing well to get the head on goal, Scepovic was there to do what he is paid to do, get these bouncing balls in the net. I was delighted for the lad as he really does look like he wants it, he is getting more game time and let’s hope he can start scoring, I think it will come for Scepovic he has this streak in him all strikers need he has fire in his belly, he seldom complains when he is free in space in the box and someone shoots instead, he is a patient lad, I like that in him

Via @@CelticGoals

Scepovic 2-0

Scepovic 2-0

So 2-0, cracking goal by Izzy but more important 3 points and we still have a game in hand. Now we go over to Gran Canaria to play PSV Eindhoven and Sparta Prague and hopefully get Denayer and Lustig as match fit as two games would allow. Mulgrew and Forrest also. When you look at players missing it really is a lot. We could and should be well ahead in this league table but lack of goals is costing us dearly and tonight could have also. We need Commons on the park, simple as that, he shoots he sets up and much of went on tonight he was on the end of or involved in. We seen Ronny and the fans at the end and I love this, he is connecting with the fans the guy is a fighter, he will come good and Andy Walker can hate this all day, I love to see passionate managers, Ronny is learning to be a manager at a World Class club with expectations through the roof, we are in all competitions 1 point off the top of the league with a game in hand, LETS BE POSITIVE!

Man of the match Kris Commons

3 points and match reports from Gran Canaria coming next as well as part 2 of Ronny’s Celtic “The Midfield Battlers”

Celt’s tactically too easy to play against as County hold on for 0-0

He needs to sign a contract or say he is leaving, confidence is gone

He needs to sign a contract or say he is leaving, confidence is gone

By @ShaunyGibson – Used to be @ ShaunyNews

Watching Celtic today was like watching Groundhog Day, we were too open on the wings, the right hand side with Matthews and Ambrose is causing the whole team problems. In Midfield Bitton passed all day sadly it was side to side. Attacking we were way too obvious, I like to see the ball passed fast but we are overplaying and we are making it very easy for sides to camp in on us at home as many sides do. Guidetti needs benched, he needs to sign a contract or say “I am going at the end of the season” because his form took a dive when Celtic agreed £3 Million to get John in January.

Guidetti, Johansen, Brown had chances today and passed them up, Guidetti with 2 bad misses. We can call it bad luck in the last two games, goal chopped off, hit the post and bar, today Guidetti hit the post but our tempo was just not channelled in the right way.

The 1st half saw the above and Griffiths as well as Bitton shoot but miss. The opening 45 minutes was Corner, shot, corner, shot and so on, it was awful to watch. We were playing a team we should be sitting back off and allowing them or asking them to come at us then playing through them, we do neither, we allow the opposition to sit back and the opposition half has 21 players in it most games. Before the United defeat and today we were lucky, very lucky, in the last two weeks our luck has run out.

County pair Scott Boyd and Paul Quinn battle made it hard day for Guidetti

County pair Scott Boyd and Paul Quinn battle made it hard day for Guidetti

The tactics seem ok on paper but for the opposition manager his message is simple, sit off and let them pass and shoot from long range. We looked like scoring but I felt it wasn’t going to happen early in the 2nd half. We are way too obvious in the way we play and if we don’t sort this we could find ourselves in a title race going into the last 5 games

Via Celtic Site - He best show better, frustrated he is, he ain't alone

Via Celtic Site – He best show better, frustrated he is, he ain’t alone

Ronny wants fast fit players but leaving last season’s top scorer and a player who can assist for fun on the bench is a huge mistake. Kris is no mug he knows his time is up, even if he signs a contract he will know he doesn’t fit into Ronny’s plans. This is a real shame. Ronny wants to entertain, he wants to improve, he wants goals. Well if I was him I would play the players I know can do a job

If we are not careful the new year could be a very hard 5 months

Goal Shy Celtic Fall In Dundee

_79874949_griffiths

Griffiths get’s a consolation for Celtic

Never seen such a one sides game in my life, 70% possession throughout but the ‘Ambrose Effect’ set the tone for the game. 2-1 in the end, we hit the post the bar a perfectly good goal chopped off, on another day we walk away with at least a point but our build up play wasn’t good enough today, we had total control of the game but the final third we must praise Dundee United they gave us no room and when we got that room the crossing was awful on both flanks. Our one touch passing game just wasn’t happening today with Johansen being main culprit, a lad on form yet today he looked half the player he is. Guidetti has stopped scoring and I think this make his permanent deal with Celtic go through quicker. We remain top of the league but will Ronny learn a lesson today in that Leigh Griffiths is assured at this level?

4 minutes into the game a ball into the box, right at Ambrose, one fresh air kick later and Nadir Ciftci still managed to get past Ambrose to get his shot away and 1-0 United. Terrible defending by a guy we really need out the side but with Denayer and Mulgrew unavailable Ambrose it is. Most games the team look at Ambrose in disgust and today was no different

Celtic had tons of chances but couldn’t get the ball in the net, we pushed left, right, through the middle, the defence was the best Ronny had today he had nobody else to play Centre Half for example, maybe one of the kids would do a better job? Eoghan O’Connell would be a decent shout instead of Ambrose. His mistake put us on the back foot too early and we were always chasing and trying to force play

Dundee United made it 2-0 and game over on 64 minutes and again bad defending by Celtic. Nadir Ciftci got a cross over an easy cross we should have stopped the ball floated to the back post James Forrest didn’t check the runner Stuart Armstrong who headed home with Gordon doing his best to get to it. Look at this goal again you will see Forrest stopped tracking Armstrong and let him go

Celtic did have the ball in the back of the net soon after a cross into the box Izaguirre chested the ball into the path of Scepovic brilliant goal but the far side linesman flagged for offside, the replay showed Scepovic was onside, this was with 10 minutes to go and I think had we got that one we would have got something from the game

Perfectly good goal by Scepovic adjudged offside

Perfectly good goal by Scepovic adjudged offside

Celtic got a goal on 86 minutes a good squared pass by Commons and Leigh Griffiths hammered home but with 3 minutes to go we left it too late. It was not for trying today. I wouldn’t be too harsh on the players today we ran the game. They say games are defined by moments and today we had many moments. The early mistake by Ambrose, the goal by Scepovic, I could go on. Some praise to United they played well in defence, we were too obvious in our approach today

Griffiths got two crackers in midweek for the development squad, he is a good goalscorer may be need him more? He is proven in this league

Griffiths got two crackers in midweek for the development squad, he is a good goalscorer may be need him more? He is proven in this league

Again man of the match was Nir Bitton he just makes things look so easy. I know in defeat it’s hard to find a man of the match but this was a game we controlled and Biton was architect of this

We are still ahead we have a lot to play for, heads up and onto the next game

Celtic ease past Saint’s to go 6 clear in League (Goals)

Two for Brown, should have got more

Two for Brown, should have got more

A bad start today, first five minutes we could have been 2 or 3 down but we sorted ourselves out and got an early lead on 3 minutes through Scott Brown,  Stokes had the ball wide squared it across the 18 yard line and Brown lashed it home for a good early lead, sadly we couldn’t keep a clean sheet today again the right side of defence with Matthews and Ambrose hurt us, 10 minutes on the  clock and 1-1 when Sean Kelly side footed a cross that should have been cleared

Brown 1-0 Thanks to @CelticGoals for all the links:

m2R8gG

After that point, to be fair it was an easy afternoon. Guidetti had a few chances and more worryingly went off injured in the 2nd half. Forrest was replaced due to a migraine and Biton made way for Henderson. 2-1 Celtic on 15 minutes ball into the box Guidetti helped it on to Forrest who was at the back post and he rattled home to get Celtic back in front.

Good to see him back and scoring he makes a difference

Good to see him back and scoring he makes a difference

2-1 Forrest

We didn’t have to wait long for the 3-1 four minutes in-fact, James Forrest squared the ball from the right wing and it was almost a carbon copy of the 1st goal from Scott Brown. At this point it was fair to say the game was over as a contest.

The 1st half saw us have a few chances with Biton having a few pops at goal and Guidetti missing a few chances but we went in 3-1 at the break

3-1 Brown

The 2nd half was all Celtic and I am still wondering how Scepovic didn’t get a hat-trick with his half an hour on the park, 3 times he was through and just had to get it on target, he hit the post missed a good cross, basically just not his day. All the lad needs is a game like today and a few goals and I am sure the goals will come, the longer he goes passing up all these chances the harder it may be for him

Celtic made it 4-1 on 67 minutes after threatening a few times this time Stokes the scorer. Johansen has been doing this whole game, he closed down a Saint’s defender won the ball squared it to Stokes in the box who slotted home. Scott Brown had a chance for a hat-trick with 15 minutes to go he got a good shot away and injured his foot on the follow through, he seemed ok

Stokes thanks Johansen for his goal and work rate

Stokes thanks Johansen for his goal and work rate

4-1 Stokes

I still don’t know how we  never scored more today, Scepovic like everyone I want to come good but it seems the lad is feeling the pressure when chances are coming easy. We will see where he is in the new year. Guidetti took a sore one on the ankle  or shin and you could see he was frustrated he is very much a confidence player and today wasn’t his day his demeanour said it all

Man of the match: Scott Brown, 2 goals and ran the show in the middle of the park, I am liking the Brown, Johansen, Biton midfield, it allows Johansen to play behind the striker and Biton or Brown will push left to allow Stokes to go into advanced areas

all in 3 points, 6 points clear, when you look at it all on paper, 10/10 Ronny so far but there is still ‘something’ not there yet, I am sure it will come. I am not sure on Commons not playing, he was CRUCIAL for us last season. With Griffiths also not getting on it seem  Ronny is going with his 2 strikers  Guidetti and Scepovic more often than not

Celtic Labour Into the Europa League last 32

Scored 2 should have made it 4-4 with late header

Scored 1 should have made it 4-4 with late header

Zagreb 4-3 Celtic and a game that in reality didn’t matter, a strange game in the sense that apart from a dreadful start to the 2nd half it’s a game we should have won. I know Ronny wanted to rest players and give youth a shot at European football but for me tonight, and I don’t like saying this, Commons made Johansen less effective. The first half we shot ourselves in the foot twice with two goals given away by Adam Matthews and a few saves by Gordon also kept Zagreb at bay.

Zagreb took the lead on 14 minutes when a cross to the back post left Matthews exposed, he jumped in allowing Pjaca to fire Zagreb ahead. 10 minutes later it was 1-1 when a Virgil Van Dijk free kick looped into the air Commons was first to the dropping ball to head the ball past the keeper, 1-1 and Celtic were starting to dominate. 2-1 and a deserved lead on the half hour mark when Commons’ free-kick cannoned off the bar, Biton headed it back into the mix and Scepovic turned and volleyed it home. 2-1 to Celtic and we were on top at this stage, I was thinking 3-1 we were doing well

For all Celtic’s possession on 40 minutes Zagreb made it 2-2 when awful defending by Matthews took a bad touch in the box instead of clearing allowing  Pjaca to fire home a deflected shot off Biton’s leg, 2-2 and half time. At this stage Celtic looked like we could go and win this game

The 2nd half started and before anyone could sit down and finish a half time beer or cup of tea it was Zagreb 4-2 Celtic. Gordon made two good saves but on 50 minutes a cut back to the edge of our box and the unmarked Brozovic to hammer home from the edge of the box, good finish to be fair but where were the runners tracking back? Things got a lot worse a minute later when Pjaca was allowed to run unchallenged and hammer an unstoppable shot from 25 yards past Gordon and into the far side of goal. 4-2 and game over it seemed

Then as Celtic do we came back into the game, McGregor, Commons and Henderson all had shots saved or just wide, with 80 minutes on the clock cracking one touch football played Izaguirre through he cut it back and it looked like a Scepovic goal but an own goal from Pivaric made the last 10 minutes tense, Celtic gave it a lot in the last 10 minutes and to be fair had we played like this throughout we would have won tonight with key players missing. Scepovic had a brilliant header come off the post on 87 minutes, Henderson chipped the ball over the keeper who done well to tip it over.

Celtic huffed and puffed but in the end bad defending and lack of creativity behind Scepovic didn’t help. I still think we needed Johansen behind Scepovic, Commons although hitting the bar for one goal and scoring himself was very poor tonight, I would always rather see Johansen bombing forward. Biton was good tonight and was my man of the match as he didn’t do too much wrong, he has started the last few games and tonight he done the easy things and made it look easy. We missed Brown and we really miss Lustig and Denayer for sure.

We were already through but to lose our last 2 group games we did well to progress to the last 32. We will have Guidetti and maybe new players for that round. If we had been told we would finish 2nd and make it to the last 32 before a ball was kicked in this competition we would have taken it.

Top of the league
Semi Final of the League cup
Still in the Scottish Cup
Last 32 of the Europa League

On paper it looks perfect, but in reality we all know we need to improve in defence, Gordon is saving us time and time again.
Ambrose gives me chest pains, Scepovic showed tonight he can play and like everyone I hope he can take it from here, he looked like a proper striker tonight

Norwegian Kid Martin Ødegaard to choose Celtic – Video

This kid can play

This kid can play

When we see talent of a football player that is amazing we stand and clap, when that talent is 15 years old and has a paper and milk round we stand back in disbelief, he turns 16 mid-December. This kid is astonishing. He has the pick of Europe but Ronny Deila his mentor and teacher has control over this one, Ronny said as much in a recent interview

“I have control over that situation. I know what is happening there, This is more about his choices What is his thinking? “Is it go to a big club and try to break in there and go through that road or go to a smaller club in not such a good league but it makes it easier to make the first team? “He’s a very good player but we must stand in line – there are 20 clubs, maybe more, who want him. “He has been to clubs all over Europe – to Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Dortmund and Liverpool. PSG wanted him but he hasn’t had time to visit so there is some hard competition.”

Hans Erik Ødegaard

Hans Erik Ødegaard

Ronny is best friends with Martin’s father Hans Erik Ødegaard (left) who is a coach in Norway himself, Ronny has told the kid the money will come, the millions will arrive, but he has asked him to wait. I am hearing he is Celtic bound with a nominal fee being paid to Strømsgodset with a sell on clause. Martin was spotted at Liverpool’s training ground and the presumption was ‘He will go to Anfield’ Well it looks like Celtic have won the race for a kid who could go to any club he wants. I think things are starting to happen with Ronny and Celtic, the style of play is starting to show, it is almost like the players can’t keep up with the fast passing Ronny has introduced, but it is coming and I truly believe Ronny will one day be a man Celtic fans won’t want to see leave the club

Martin Ødegaard & R onny (1)

Ronny has brought Martin through the ranks and gave him his chance

Martin at age 15 is a Norwegian full internationalist at his tender age and that is mind blowing. I have seen a few videos of the kid, the one below is amazing, this kid is going to light Paradise up and fall in love with the club then Celtic will make silly money on him when he is ready to walk into a one of the top sides who can pay silly money. I don’t really have a source, it is common knowledge in a few football circles. Anyway if you have not seen this video, ENJOY!

Celtic edge past Thistle to go 3 clear in league (Goal)

Game in hand we had to win

Game in hand we had to win

This was our game in hand, we needed 3 points and we got them. We should have been out of sight in the first 20 minutes. Brown with a chip through to Tonev was close, soon after Tonev played in Matthews but his cross was cleared. 8 minutes in superb play gave the ball to Johansen his cross and Guidetti had his header saved. 2 minutes later Guidetti and Stokes linked up, cross to Johansen but his header  went wide.

That was the first 10 minutes and Celtic kept it going. Tonev who had a good game tonight got a shot away that was palmed away by Gallacher in goal. Then Van Dijk hammered a low shot saved and another corner. It was all Celtic, it was just a matter of when.

25 minutes in Guidetti played in Stokes a cross into the box and Tonev heads wide when scoring was easier. All Celtic and at this point 0-0 was just unreal. Celtic kept it up Van Dijk, Johansen and Guidetti with good chances then Thistle had a shot just past Gordon’s near post. Leading up to half time Celtic played the ball well, trying to beat 10 defenders is hard, Matthews had a volley just wide on 40 minutes it just didn’t look like we would score.  2 minutes later Stokes shot just wide and that was the first half, should have been 5-0 up but we were playing well

Second half saw Mulgrew swap for Bitton. Van Dijk passed through the Thistle defence to Tonev his shot hit the side netting. Thistle were countering us and had the odd half chance. Then came the goal. Johansen who can deliver a ball played  a cracker into the box, there was big Virgil Van Dijk who hammered home from 6 yards, well done big Van Dijk. For all the good play it was a set piece that got us in-front. He is playing well as the Transfer window is close to opening

Van Dijk cracks home the winner

Van Dijk cracks home the winner

Thanks to @celticgoals

With 20 minutes left Double switch for Celtic saw Guidetti and Tonev off, Scepovic and Commons on, for me I didn’t think it was time to make these changes as Thistle kind of came back into it. A few minutes after Commons came on he should have scored, great move Stokes played it into Commons and his shot was too near the keeper. Scepovic should have made it 2-0 with a double chance and it seems this kid just won’t score.

At this point it was ‘Lets see it out’ Then step up Craig Gordon. Doolan was in and a great shot saw Gordon pull off a super save to keep it 1-0. For all Celtic’s good play we still are not finishing teams off

3 points clear in the league, a game we will forget easy. Decent win. Ronny said afterwards he wants better but is happy with the points.

Man of the match: Virgil Van Dijk – With the transfer window about to open he is playing brilliant. It is a worry but Ronny is adamant he is staying

Bitter Sweet as Celtic progress in Europa League

utr56u5r

Very hard game to sum up tonight, a 3-1 defeat I don’t think we deserved I think 2-2 would have been fairer, for 70 minutes Celtic pressed well and created chances. But the newspapers and official UEFA website will say “Celtic are through to the last 32 in the Europa”

Salzburg came out all guns blazing and were 2-0 through Alan and could have had another few. Then from nowhere a cracking cross and Johansen brought it back to 2-1, brilliant finish from an ever improving player

The 2nd half Celtic owned, Griffiths with a header, Commons with an open goal but Ambrose got in the way, we created so many half chances, we got to the goal line so much but the ball back into the box was not good enough. I think Ronny with 5 minutes to go knew we were through but 2-2 would have been perfect.

This was going on for 2-2. a night of joy and despair

This was going on for 2-2. a night of joy and despair

McGregor was poor 1st half but in these first 20 minutes Celtic were either taken aback or Salzburg were just amazing. The positive for me is we are through. The 2nd half Celtic were superb, we owned a superb side, to lose a 3rd goal in the dying seconds was just a downer

We are through, Guidetti can play and this might sway him to sign. Celtic are 3 players away from being a better side. An attacking midfielder another solid centre half as Ambrose fell asleep at Alan’s 2nd goal and he is bad for ball watching.

We now take on Hearts to keep ourselves in all competitions. If we beat Hearts we are top of the league, in Europe past Christmas and although it is hard to see there actually are signs of good things coming. Gudetti can now play in all games and this will help

A young player getting better, Johansen got us back to 2-1

A young player getting better, Johansen got us back to 2-1

We deserved 2-2 but we are through to the last 32, we have a chance to sign players or get Commons and Guidetti signed up, whatever Ronny needs to do

I will take this all day long, we have been ok in Europe away this season, we could win our last one and top it all off. So let’s look forward to the next game. We were VERY unlucky not to walk away 2-2  tonight. We were playing a very good side and we made them look ordinary for large spells of the game. Denayer was missed, Lustig was missed, Forest should have started.

All that matters as we slowly improve

All that matters as we slowly improve

But, If, etc, we are through, moving on

3 points is all that matters today. Denayer off injured we hope he is ok for Thursday. We were not superb today, we seem to make it hard for ourselves too often and today was no different.
Dundee had most of the ball in the first 15 minutes pegging Celtic back in the early staged. I thought the relationship, as Ronny would say between defence and midfield and strikers wasn’t there today. Commons and Forrest got some time on the park, so looking back in was an ‘ok’ day.
Celtic then came more into the game, the link up play improved, Commons, Forrest, Guidetti, Van Dijk all passing up on good chances. Just before half time some wonderful wide play by James Forrest winning a free kick 2 yards from the corner flag stand side. Commons whipped in a killer cross, Stokes made a back to front post run and headed home with power, 1-0 Celtic and a goal from the training ground for sure

Goal video thanks to @CelticGoals

Stokes powers home for 1-0 just on half time

Stokes powers home a header for 1-0 just on half time

Denayer went off at half time, he seemed to be ok as he walked off so let’s hope precaution is the reason. Ambrose is a decent player, once every now and then. I don’t think he is a bomb scare, he is just too relaxed, when 50,000 people and everyone watching around the World get all panicky, Efe just seems to be confident. He nearly got caught a few times but Craig Gordon and Van Dijk saved him.
2-0 came 9 minutes into the second half, again Forrest with a superb run got himself to the goal line cut it back to the penalty spot and ‘Super John Guidetti’ doesn’t miss from there. 2-0, game over, let’s all relax with a cup of Bovril and enjoy the rest of the game…

Celtic lately have done this, got ahead and then lost a goal or didn’t get the 2nd goal, thankfully luck has been on our side the last 2 months or so. Games we should have dropped points we never, so with no Brown and a few injures, Lustig also, we take today’s score.
Dundee did manage a goal through Clarkson, a fine signing for Dundee he has turned out to be. Ball into the box, nobody willing to attack it and 2-1. It made the last 20 minutes hard but looking back I think we had more chances to get a 3rd goal. Kayal had the ball in the net on 92 minutes and I will have to see it again, he looked onside to me
We now await Red Bull Strasberg on Thursday, we need to win. I hope we can fill the stadium and get the job done with a game to spare. Top of the league, nearly through in the Europa League with room to spare and in the Semi Final of the league cup, in reality we can’t ask for much more after the start to the season we had

Final score: Celtic 2-1 Dundee

Man of the match: James Forrest
